The Blah of my life

I live a pretty boring existence. Some may argue differently, maybe it's a lack of creativity. Since my last post, not much has happened that is inspiring me to words of either humor or wisdom. To summarize: booked in about 5% of my sales for the year on Monday (yeehaw!), good training week (except my tp going down on the ice on Wednesday), nice ride on the breakfast ride yesterday (good legs and conversation), nobody too pissed at me that I know of.

We are having a couple of teenage girls stay at our house for the weekend for a youth convention. For those of you doing the math out there, that means there are now 8 females in my house to me being the only male. The good news is that two are dogs and one is a cat. The bad/good part is that 4 are teenagers. The funny part was that they had some free time yesterday afternoon (3 hours, remember the number) before the evening program (services and a dance). The two guests (my daughters were out of the house) spent 2 hours getting ready (yes they were actively getting ready - showers, hair dryers, etc.) before going over to our friends house for dinner. When we got to their house (they had 5 boys staying at their house), introductions were made. Now keep in mind that this is less than an hour before they have to be at the evening program, and it will take 10 minutes to drive there, so really looking at about 40 minutes to departure time and dinner needs to be consumed in that time. NONE of the boys was even considering getting dressed yet. My guess is that their last shower was probably the day before at the most recent.

What is it about society that puts this pressure on females? Are they doing it for themselves? Do they really think males are so shallow as to be influenced by such efforts? The good news out of this is that my daughter changed and got ready in under 2 minutes after her gymnastics meet at some flea bag gym in Rossford.

Maybe I do have some influence after all.

I'm baaaaack

I know there was a lot of concern over my well being over the past few weeks. Rest assured, i am fine. My life just isn't as interesting as others who have addiction issues with this particular medium.

I have been staying on track with my riding - even though my TP has been quite negligent this year. Riding pretty strong for January all things considered. To date I have only ridden in the basement on two days. Unfortunately, I think that number will be increasing in the near future. I am working my way through a nice head cold and the outside ride yesterday with Jamie was much more painful than it should have been considering the effort I was putting out. The tough part is getting back into the strength training. Yesterday was shoulder and core work - the arms they are a crying today.

On the fun front, I am typing this on my new MacBook Pro. What a sweet machine!! I have only worked in the WinTel world for the past 15 years, so I am having some fun with this. It is amazing in that I have to use Windows to access my office remotely. It can be done easily using Parallels and running Explorer inside of that. The next big trick will be seeing if I can get some Windows programs to seamlessly slide onto this machine to run inside of Parallels. I am hopeful, but not optimistic, that I can get my Computrainer programs, and Ergomo related programs over. I will keep you posted. I also want to figure out how to use the silly little camera that is sitting in front of me on this thing - give me some time.
